Auriculotherapy is a form of acupuncture.  It is performed by applying electrical stimulation to acupunture points on the external ear.  No needles are involved.   

Detection of electrical conductance helps the doctor to reveal specific auricular reflex points which can be stimulated to alter pathological reflex patterns in the brain, in internal organs, and in different peripheral regions of the musculoskeletal body.

Auriculotherapy is a clinically effective treatment modality utilized for the relief of chronic pain and the alleviation of substance abuse.

In June 2008, after demonstrating advanced skills in the principles and applications of Auriculotherapy, Dr.Brittani Riggio received Certification in Auriculotherapy from The Auriculotherapy Certification Institute.  Dr. Brittani is the only doctor in the Effingham area to be certified by the ACI.

Q:Does Auriculotherapy hurt?

A:You may feel a small pinch or a sting.  If it feels painful, the doctor will turn down the intensity, so that you can barely feel it.

Q:How does it work?

A:The ear is a microsystem.  What this means is, every part of the body can be represented by a tiny spot on the external ear.  By stimulating these tiny acupuncture points on the ear, any part of the body can be treated.

Q:Is it effective?

A: Dr. Brittani has found Auriculotherapy to be very effective in helping with Nicotine Withdrawl, Appetitie Control, ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Pain, and more.
